On monday a stove was completed at Kiishi primary school. Kiishi is higher up on the mountain. We have allowed our stove building work to extend on the slopes of the mountain as wasting firewood is not acceptable anywhere. And getting a smoke free kitchen is of course as important there as anywhere else. (Water […]

On Friday last week a tank was completed at Mkongea primary school in Mwanga. This was the first of the two school tanks built by Stats4SD funding. In addition, hand washing places will be placed next to toilets and a nursery established by using recycled water. Mkongea is along the little dirt road behind the

On Monday I met Mwanga builders, Ernest, Musa, Daudi and Florens in Moshi town. In 2019 it became ten years since these builders started to build with Liana projects in Mwanga. Since 2009 they have been building water tanks and stoves wherever Liana needs them. But the best part of it is that they continue

A new stove has been completed again. This time in a place where we have not yet worked before, Maili sita. It is six miles from Moshi towards Arusha. This is the 25th stove since we started to work in Rombo in late 2017. Having all these improved school stoves must already make a big impact

Ndanu and Tumaini completed a stove at Wama primary yesterday evenining. This stove was paid in total by Sherwood Sunrisers Rotary club in the UK. Thank you! The club had earlier built a kitchen building for the same school, but it still lacked a stove. So in this exceptional case Liana deviated from its normal

Ndanu has started helping those schools that have earlier built a water tank and acquired hand washing kits start tree nurseries. Some schools have been independent in this activity, however, Maksau, Uruwa, Kitongoria and Usongo requested help. He has now bought a locally made metal watering can and a roll of polythen bags for each
