One school has again got an improved stove and a chance to save 50-75% in their firewood consumption. This makes a big difference not only to the budget of the school but to the tree resources in the surrounding environment. And, not the least, the cook together with the children helping her enjoy, as they can breath clean air – especially after the walls have been built ;-).
The school kitchen is only a roofed area without walls. But walls will be built later, of course. The school was wise enough to grab the opportunity to build the stove when it was available.

Ghona secondary is in Kahe, close to Moboghini (south of Moshi), where we introduced this opportunity to build stoves last year.

Yksi koulu on jälleen saanut kunnon hellan ja sillä on näin mahdollisuus säästää 50-75% polttopuun kulutuksessaan. Tästä on suuri merkitys – ei vain koulun budjettiin – vaan myös ympäristölle, kun puita ei tarvitse hakata niin paljon. Ja eikä ollenkaan vähiten, kokki ja häntä auttavat lapset iloitsevat saadessaan hengittää puhdasta ilmaa – varsinkin sitten, kun keittiöön rakennetaan seinät ;-).
Koulun keittiö on nyt vain katos ilman seiniä. Mutta seinät tietenkin rakennetaan myöhemmin. Koulu oli viisas tarttumalla mahdollisuuteen rakentaa hella silloin kun mahdollisuus oli tarjolla.
Ghonan yläkoulu on Kahessa, lähellä Moboghinia (Moshin eteläpuolella) missä viimeksi kerroimme kouluille mahdollisuuudesta rakentaa hella viime vuonna.
