(suomeksi kuvien alla) Mawanda Mkei primary and Liana built a water tank and a stove in autumn 2017. It was clearly explained from our side that to receive such a large subsidy to build a water tank, a school needs to be committed to do all the other improvements and environmental activities as well: To

At the end of last week a stove was completed at Kirachi primary. The school has a nice stone building for a kitchen – unlike many other schools at which we have built stoves so far. But their cooking facilities were just the same, the standard three-stone fire on the earthen floor and outside in

Reissaavilta rakentajilta puuttuvat kaikki elämän mukavuudet, mutta aurinkonnousun kajo Kilimanjaron rinteellä ja aamutaivaan täysikuu on ainutlaatuinen. Mawenzi etualalla, Kibon jäätikköhuippu taustalla. Travelling builders may lack all the comforts of life, but the gleam of sunrise on the slopes of Kilimanjaro and the full moon in the early morning sky are unique. Mawenzi in the front

Muungan alakoulu sai viimeviikolla uuden hellan. ’Uusi’ on tietenkin vähän harhaan johtava, koska eihän siellä koskaan mitään entistäkään hellaa ollut, vain kolme kiveä. Muunga primary school got a new stove last week. ‘New’ is a bit misleading of course, as they never had any stove at all, just three stones. Koulun keittäjä ja päärakentaja Ndanu.

Again a stove is completed. This time for Kaheusseri primary. Last year’s December two schools in the same village, Marieni and Kaheusseri secondary, built stoves. This is how a good product spreads – by recommendations. The donor was Marja. I had been waiting with Marja’s generous donation for a long time, as originally it was

A stove was built at Usongo primary last week. The main donors are Karisjärvi friends’ club (Karisjärven ystäväkerho) and Sirpa. Hella valmistui Usongon alakoululle viime viikolla. Päälahjoittajat ovat Karisjärven ystäväkerho ja Sirpa.

Hella valmistui Sasenin alakoululle viime viikolla. ; – ) Kiitos kaikille mukana olijoille! A stove was completed at Saseni primary school last week. Rains allowed travelling to the

Ndanu and Mandela finished stove building yesterday, 3rd of May, at Kwalamahondo primary… nice name! Materials were bought over a week earlier, but heavy rains prevented building and travelling. In addition to the school’s own contribution Adrian’s, Eero’s and Sinikka’s donations were used for this stove. Thanks to them! The actual wooden kitchen building looks

23rd April 2018 Ndanu and the head teacher of Mterini primary arranged a tree planting activity as an educational environmental day. Students planted fifteen Mvule (Milicia excelsa) and Mkoromaji (Trichilia emetica, Cape mahogany). Seedlings were bought from Samuel who keeps an impressive  indigenous tree nursery in Moshi, and transported by public transport and the head
